Choosing between a clean grid and a messy collage for a local band's poster
I had to pick a style for a gig poster for a punk band called The Static, playing at The Basement here in town. It was either a super clean, Swiss-style grid with just the info or a wild, ripped-paper collage with paint splatters. I went full messy collage, using old magazine pages and actual coffee stains. Has anyone else done a messy design for a client who ended up loving it way more than something 'proper'?

Honestly, good call. A clean grid for a punk show would be like serving a salad at a barbecue.
