Showerthought: That week in Austin when everyone was copying the same 3D glass effect
It was a bad week for my feed because every single design account was posting the same trendy 3D glass morphism look. I think it got old fast and made everything look the same, not inspired. Has anyone else felt like a trend just killed variety for a bit?

Yeah, that "bad week for my feed" line really hits home. I remember scrolling and it felt like my whole feed was just one person copying and pasting the same shiny thing over and over. It totally sucked the life out of following design stuff for a while because there was nothing new to actually see.

Read an article about how this kind of repetitive posting can actually train the algorithm to show you less variety. It basically locks you into a bubble of that one person's content, which is exactly what happened to Susan. The piece said platforms mistake high output for high engagement, so they push it even if it's low quality. Makes the whole experience feel really stale, fast.
