Small win today: Created a stunning poster using only two colors, but my buddy says it's too restrained. Do limitations boost creativity or hold it back?

Nah, limits can push you to be more creative, not hold you back. Having to work with just two colors means you get clever with stuff like shape and layout. Your buddy might not see it yet, lmao.

So when do limits actually kill creativity then?

I read about Picasso's Blue Period where he only used blue shades for years. That limit pushed him to explore mood and form in really deep ways. It's like what you said about two colors making you focus on shape and layout. Limits can spark new ideas because you have to solve problems differently. Totally agree that limits are a creative tool, not a barrier!
