That worn firing pin spring was about to cause a misfire
Replacing it during routine maintenance saved my client from a frustrating range day.

That spring had thousands of rounds left in it.

Smart maintenance beats a surprise failure every time. That little spring could have ruined a whole trip. People forget the small parts matter most.

Good call on catching that... fixed a similar problem on my old pistol last month and it's satisfying when maintenance pays off.

Got some different experience on this one, @hannah_webb71. That coil spring might have chugged along for a while, but the real danger is it still fires fine. Then you get one light strike at the worst possible moment in a self defense scenario or competition stage. Seen plenty of guns that run perfect for box after box of range ammo, then fail on hard primers or a cold morning. Better to swap a ten dollar spring than gamble with that kind of reliability.
