I finally switched to deep watering schedules for new sod installations

The roots established faster and we had far fewer callbacks for brown patches last summer. What methods do you use to promote root growth in turf?

Always figured light watering was enough, but deep schedules on new sod proved me wrong.

Set my alarm for 4 AM once to try that pre-dawn watering magic. Spent the whole next day yawning and nearly watered the neighbor's cat instead of my petunias. The lawn looked great, but I was a zombie. Honestly, my plants might prefer a well-rested me giving them a deep soak at a normal hour. Sometimes the perfect method just isn't worth the personal cost.
