Why does nobody talk about the plastic in 'biodegradable' tea bags?
My morning tea ritual has revealed that many biodegradable bags still incorporate plastic components. This oversight means they persist in landfills longer than claimed, subtly worsening waste issues. What steps have you taken to avoid such pitfalls in your daily caffeine routine?

Switched to loose leaf after hearing about that plastic mess. My dumb infuser fell apart in boiling water, leaves everywhere. Ended up just straining it through a clean sock in a pinch.

Skip the loose leaf hassle. Good bags work fine, never had a disaster like that. Plastic scare is overrated.

Honestly the plastic thing is real though. I saw a study where they found billions of particles in a single cup from a bag. It's not just about the bag falling apart, it's about the hot water pulling stuff out of it. My friend switched to loose leaf with a metal basket and it's way cleaner. The taste is better too, you get more flavor from the actual leaves. It's worth the extra minute it takes.

Remember when I tried to ditch bags for loose leaf? My brilliant solution was using a paper towel as a filter, which disintegrated into my cup. Now I just accept my microplastic fate like a champ.
