Update: My tomato seeds finally sprouted after weeks on the windowsill
All that checking each morning felt silly, but seeing those tiny green shoots today was a real win.

Read an article about how watching plants grow does something good for your brain... like it’s not really about the tomatoes you get, it’s about the little daily connection to something alive. Makes the checking each day feel less like a waste. That tiny win is the whole point sometimes.

Honestly though, is it really a win? You wasted weeks of time checking every day for a couple of sprouts. Now you have to keep them alive for months just to maybe get a few tomatoes. That's a ton of work for something you can buy for two dollars at the store. Feels like setting yourself up for more stress than it's worth.

Totally agree with @patlopez on this. I tried growing herbs last year and it was a nightmare. Constantly worrying about water, sunlight, and pests for months. Ended up with barely enough for one meal, and store-bought is so cheap. Not worth the hassle at all.

Ngl, I kinda get where she's coming from though. Sometimes the stress of keeping something alive actually teaches you to slow down and appreciate the small stuff, even if the harvest sucks.
