My old floppy disk taught me a lesson I'll never forget
I had all my school work on one floppy disk for months. Then one morning, the drive just made a weird noise and wouldn't read it. I basically lost a whole semester's worth of essays. It's crazy how we relied on those little things without a backup.

Floppy disks taught us to back up data the hard way, just ask @west.skyler's friend with the wedding photos.

Cloud storage changed everything after experiences like that. Backing up is honestly cheap insurance compared to losing years of memories. Modern tech is great but those old disk failures taught us a hard lesson.

Oof, that hurts to hear. I had a similar scare when my laptop's hard drive crashed right after a big family reunion. Lost all the videos from that weekend, and it still bugs me years later. @west.skyler, your friend must be gutted, what's the worst thing you've ever lost to tech failure?
