Hot take: Fancy VR locomotion is overrated; teleporting keeps the fun without the queasiness.

Setting every game to teleport movement by default has saved me from countless headaches.

I swear, my stomach has a personal vendetta against smooth locomotion. Every time I try to act tough and switch it on, I'm hugging the floor within minutes wondering why I thought I was above teleporting. It's like my inner ear is stuck in the 90s and can't handle modern gaming. So yeah, default teleport is basically a public service for people like me. What's the most ridiculous thing you've done while battling VR nausea?

I read somewhere that the motion sickness thing is basically your brain thinking you've been poisoned because your eyes say moving but your ears don't feel it, which honestly explains why I once ended up lying on my living room rug eating a cracker like I was in a 19th century fainting parlor.

My brain still thinks teleporting is cheating, so I'll stubbornly toggle smooth move for 'immersion'. Last time I did that, I spent ten minutes sitting on the floor trying to remember my own name. Now I accept that my VR legs are made of jelly and embrace the teleport life.

Smooth locomotion turns every game into an unexpected floor inspection simulator, in my humble opinion.
