Can we talk about the AI checkout at my local grocery store?
I went to the Kroger on Elm Street last Tuesday and they had this new AI system at self-checkout that tries to identify produce. It got my green bell pepper right but then it thought my organic romaine was a fern or something. The whole thing took way longer than just typing in the code. Has anyone else seen these in their stores?

My Kroger on Oak Street just put those in like two weeks ago and honestly I think they're great. Sure it took my yellow squash for a pineapple at first but I just hit the "not correct" button and it let me type it in after that. Here's my thing though that whole scanning process is way faster for me because I don't have to hunt through the touchscreen for the right produce category. Plus the camera catches stuff I'd miss like my avocados that are already past ripe so I can grab a different one.

You've got a point about the speed thing, @tylerj22, but here's something that nobody's talking about yet. Those scanners are basically training us to be better produce shoppers without even trying. My kid was with me last week and she started pointing out which avocados looked too soft and which ones were just right, all from watching the scanner's reactions. It's like having a little produce coach built into the machine. Plus I noticed the scanner even caught a bad spot on an apple I almost bought, saved me from finding it out at home.
