Caught my first AI hallucination at a client demo in Phoenix

I was showing a real estate client how an AI tool builds property summaries from public records. It looked great for about 10 minutes, then I noticed it listed a pool on a house that clearly didn't have one. I zoomed in on the satellite view and the yard was all dirt. The client caught me staring and asked what was wrong. I had to explain the AI just made that up. That was the moment I stopped trusting the output without spot checking every single detail. Has anyone else found a way to build quick verification steps into their workflow without slowing things down too much?

Why is it always the little details that trip you up? I had something similar happen not with AI, but with a city inspector who swore a house had a second bathroom. I drove 40 minutes to check a job based on his report and there was literally a closet where the toilet was supposed to be. Now I keep a quick checklist on my phone for every property, just three or four things I glance at before I trust any data. Takes like 30 seconds but saves me from looking like a fool in front of clients. Same thing applies here, you just gotta build the habit of checking the obvious stuff first, pools, square footage, roof condition. The rest can slide if your time is tight.
