Heard a talk about AI making new materials in a lab
I was listening to a podcast yesterday where a scientist said they used an AI to find a new battery material in about 80 hours. The old way would have taken years of trial and error. The AI just ran through millions of possible chemical combos and picked the best ones to test. It makes me wonder what else we could find if we let these systems loose on other problems. Has anyone else seen AI used for this kind of discovery work?

Imagine an AI finding a new battery before I can even find my car keys in the morning... it's a little rude, honestly. Guess my old science fair volcano project is officially out of style. Next they'll have an AI design a better coffee, and then I'll really be out of a job.

Put your keys on a hook by the door, it's a game changer.

I mean, I've tried the hook thing and it just gave me one more spot to forget to check. Maybe my brain just works better with a messy pile.
