I spent 8 hours sorting clips for a video until an AI tool did it in 5 minutes

Last week I was editing a 45 minute podcast where I bounced around 20 different topics. I sat there dragging clips into folders for almost a full work day... then a buddy told me about Descript's AI transcription. It found every mention of "budget" and "launch date" in seconds. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you've been doing tedious work that a machine could handle?

@lucasschmidt weren't you worried about it missing something subtle?

Hold on, does relying on AI this much really help you get better at editing? I get that it saves time but you also lose the feel for the material. @lucasschmidt that transcription tool is cool but I've had it mess up names and niche terms, so you still gotta go back and check everything. Spending 8 hours sorting clips sucks, but at least you knew exactly where everything was. Now you're trusting a machine to know what's important, and it might miss the little moments that make a video worth watching.

That transcription feature is a lifesaver, isn't it?
