I was super skeptical about AI image generation for actual work
Thought it was just a toy for making weird memes or fake cat pics. But last week I had to mock up 30 different product shots for a client pitch and didn't have budget for a photographer. Threw some rough sketches into DALL-E with specific lighting notes and got usable results in maybe 2 hours. Client loved 4 of them and we're moving forward. Anyone else had a project where AI actually saved you real time or money?

@the_xena right, DALL-E actually slaps for quick mockups.

This whole AI thing feels like when people finally stopped pretending spreadsheets were just for accountants and started using them for everything. Once you see a tool do one specific job better than you can, the skepticism turns into grudging respect pretty fast. Same thing happened with autocorrect, nobody thought it would make writing emails easier until they stopped having to type out every word. Now it's just another thing we all lean on without thinking about it.

Honestly I used to roll my eyes at AI image stuff too, thought it was just for making weird art. But seeing how fast you turned rough sketches into real client-ready shots, that actually sounds legit useful. Might have to give DALL-E a real shot for my own rough mockups.
