Just realized how AI is changing the way we find live music shows

I was trying to find local gigs last night in Austin and accidentally stumbled onto this AI that scans social media and venue calendars in real time. It pulled up sets from 3 bands I'd never heard of playing at a bar two blocks from my place tonight. I spent a month last year missing shows because I relied on word of mouth. Is anyone else using stuff like this to find events, or am I late to the party?

DUDE yes. I found this same kind of thing by accident last month and it's ALREADY changed everything for me. I missed a killer noise rock band playing at a basement venue because a friend texted me the day AFTER. Now I plug in my neighborhood and it shows me stuff like a free jazz trio at a coffee shop I walk past every day. I literally went to three shows last week I would have NEVER known about. It's like having a friend who just Actually knows what's happening.

I don't know, man. Three shows in one week sounds like a lot, are you sure you're not just getting burned out? I guess it's cool that it exists for people who live in those kinds of neighborhoods with stuff happening all the time, but not everyone has that. Most areas around me just have the same tired open mic nights and cover bands. And honestly, I'd probably still miss half the shows it tells me about because I'm too tired after work to care. Is it really that game changing, or is it just a slightly better way to sort through the same junk?
