My coworker insisted AI writing tools save time on emails

Last month my teammate Sarah told me to use an AI assistant for all my work emails. She said it would cut my typing time in half easy. I tried it for a week and every single message came out stiff and awkward. My boss even asked if I was feeling okay because my replies sounded robotic. Has anyone else found these tools make simple communication harder instead of easier?

Sent three emails last week that sounded like a robot trying to apologize for a server crash. @bell.felix totally nailed it though, I spent ten minutes tweaking one AI reply when a normal "okay sounds good" would have been faster. I mean maybe it's just me but these tools just add an extra step to something that was already simple.

Overthink everything these days when a quick reply would do, lol.

Exactly. @young.kim that robot apology thing is so real. I spent an hour last week trying to make an AI response sound "natural" for a simple meeting reschedule. Ended up just typing "hey can we push it to Tuesday?" in ten seconds flat. These tools make you second guess yourself when you should just send it. Quick and simple beats perfect every time. Sometimes the best reply is the one you write without thinking.
