My mechanic friend's AI take left me questioning the whole hype
I was chatting with my buddy Dave who runs a small repair shop outside Cleveland, and he told me he tried one of those AI diagnostic tools for cars. He said it flagged a bad fuel pump on a 2018 Civic, but the car ran fine for another two months. That made me wonder if we're trusting these systems too fast, especially when they're still getting basic stuff wrong. On the flip side, I've seen AI listing tools save agents hours on property descriptions, so is the trade-off worth it? Have any of you had a clear win or a clear miss that changed your mind one way or the other?

My buddy tried one on his truck and it said the transmission was shot, turned out to be a loose sensor wire. Cost him a couple hundred in parts he didn't need. But I've also seen it nail a tricky electrical short that took me two days to find manually, so I kinda treat it like a second opinion, not the final word.
