My uncle's old cassette collection taught me something about AI training data

I was helping clean out my uncle's garage last weekend in Cleveland and found like 400 old mix tapes from the 80s and 90s. He recorded everything off the radio, live shows, random snippets of local DJs talking between songs. Got me thinking about how AI models trained on clean studio recordings would miss all that raw texture and imperfection from real life. Has anyone else noticed how AI music generators sound too polished because they skip the "lived in" audio?

DJ chatter and crowd noise from WMMS 1987 bootlegs would add real soul.
