I got a haircut last Friday at the shop on 11th and my barber Marcus brought up the tablet they started using. It scans your head, saves the measurements, and spits out a cut plan in about 4 seconds. He said the owner wants to add it to every chair by March to cut training time for new hires. Marcus has been cutting hair for 19 years and he just laughed and said the machine doesn't know how his client's cowlick behaves on a humid day. That got me thinking about how fast this stuff creeps into jobs nobody expected it to touch. Are any of you seeing AI tools show up in trades or service jobs where it feels way too early?
