Saw a robot making coffee at a gas station in Akron, and it got me thinking

I stopped at a gas station off I-76 last week, and they had one of those new robotic coffee kiosks. It was a big white box with a screen, and a single arm inside was grabbing cups, pulling espresso shots, and steaming milk all by itself. The whole process took about 90 seconds, and the coffee was actually decent. It's just wild how these small, specific tasks are getting automated now. Has anyone else run into AI doing a job you'd never expect?

That's actually kind of depressing to hear about. Sure, the coffee might be fine, but it's another small job gone. Feels like we're trading every little human interaction for a bit more speed. What's left in those places, just a screen and a lonely arm in a box? Makes the whole world feel colder.

Honestly, what happens when that thing breaks down in the middle of the night? Tbh I'd rather wait for a person than stare at a frozen error screen.

Exactly, that frozen screen is the worst kind of helpless feeling. At least a person can tell you they're working on it or even just apologize. The silence from a machine just makes everything feel broken.
