Talking to my dad about AI art changed my whole view on creativity

Last week my dad, who's been a painter for 40 years, told me AI art is just math copying real artists. He said it has no soul. But then I showed him a piece from the DALL-E 3 update where it blended Monet style with modern street photography. He looked at it for a long time and admitted it made him feel something. That conversation made me realize even traditional artists might start seeing AI as a tool, not a threat. Has anyone else had a similar talk with someone outside the tech world?

Oh man, that's actually hilarious when you think about it lol. My dad's the same way with his workshop, always the first to try something weird before my mom even considers it. Guess painters are just built different when it comes to being open minded haha.
