Finally got that old oak stump out after two full days of grinding

Had a client in Bellingham who wanted a huge white oak stump gone from their yard. Thought it would be a half day job with the big grinder, easy. The roots were wrapped around a buried concrete footing from an old shed... took me almost 16 hours over two days to cut through it all and get the grinder in there. My back is killing me from all the hand digging. Anyone else ever hit a surprise chunk of concrete that just wouldn't quit?

Man, that sounds awful. I hit a buried brick walkway once trying to plant a tree, it felt like digging to China. Some stuff just gets left behind forever.

Sixteen hours on one stump is absolutely brutal.

Always bring a digging bar to probe around first, saves you from those nasty surprises.
