Hit 50 dead ash removals this season and it's messing with my gear

I keep a log for billing and realized I've taken down 50 ash trees since May. Most had EAB damage and the wood is so brittle my chainsaw chain dulled after just two trees last week. Has anyone else noticed how fast ash wears down your equipment compared to oak or maple?

Fifty dead ash trees since May? Your poor chainsaw must be begging for retirement at this point.

Tried leaving the stump a bit higher next time and let the saw cool off between cuts, @anthony129... saved me from burning through blades so fast.

Yeah "let the saw cool off between cuts" is key. I learned that the hard way cutting up a big mulberry tree. Ran the saw too long and the chain actually started smoking. Spend all that time sharpening just to glaze it over in ten minutes. Blade life goes way up when you give it a minute to breathe. Sometimes the simple stuff makes the biggest difference.
