Just realized my old climbing rope was costing me time on every job

I was using the same 16-strand rope for years because it was cheap and felt fine. Last month I finally switched to a 24-strand one after a guy on another crew let me try his. The difference is crazy, it runs through my hitch so much smoother and I'm not fighting it on the way down. I timed myself on a similar pin oak removal and saved about twenty minutes just from less rope drag. Anyone else made a switch that seemed small but really added up?

So what brand of 24-strand did you end up getting? I've been looking at a few but I'm worried some of the newer coatings wear off too fast.

Have you actually had a coating wear out on you? I've been using the same set for a year now and it still looks brand new.

Wait, you've had the same set for a whole year? How is that even possible?
