Knocked a big limb into my own bucket truck last week. Took 6 hours to untangle.

I was trimming a big red oak over by the creek on a tight residential street. Made my cut on a heavy hanger limb, tied it off, and the rope slipped. Limb swung right into my bucket. Bent the guard rails and wrapped my lanyard and saw cord all around it. Had to get my buddy to bring the other truck and lift me out so I could climb back up with a hand saw and cut it apart piece by piece. My bucket still creaks when I turn now. Anyone else ever had a limb take out their own gear like that?

Damn man, that sounds brutal, hope your bucket's okay after all that mess.

Right? "hope your bucket's okay" - that got me. I had the same thing happen with my old Ford a couple years back, went to pull a stump and the whole bed nearly flipped over the cab.

Makes you wonder how many of these stories are mostly just empty air and good intentions... bet half the time a little WD40 and a strap would've sorted it.
