Learned a new way to notch a tree after a sticky situation last week

I was taking down a big oak in my neighbor's yard and the damn thing started pinching my bar no matter which way I cut. Finally tried an open-face notch with a shallower angle than I usually do, and the tree went exactly where I wanted it. Anyone else have a go-to notch technique for different tree types?

Wait, you're telling me the notch angle actually made that much difference in the pinch?

Yeah no @smith.anna is right, I messed with mine and it completely changed how the grip feels, wild.

Wait, did you adjust the actual notch angle or just sand down the grooves? Cause I messed with the angle on mine back in Feb and the whole pinch feel shifted like crazy, but @smith.anna mentioned something about how the depth matters more than the angle itself. Which one did you end up changing?
