Getting everyone on the same page first thing is key. Those five minutes probably stop the little miscommunications that normally eat up your morning. It forces a quick check-in so no one starts their task with the wrong info.

My friend's crew skipped their huddle last week and it was a mess... they spent two hours on a job before realizing they had the wrong materials. That's exactly what taylorc40 is talking about, starting with wrong info. Now they're back to the five-minute check and everything's on track again.
