My Fiskars pole saw blade snapped mid cut on a maple limb
Was trimming a big maple branch over the driveway last Saturday. About 3 feet into the cut, the blade just gave out and snapped clean in half. Nearly took a tumble off the ladder when the saw gave way. I've had that saw for maybe 2 seasons, not heavy use either. Picked up a replacement blade at a local shop for $18, but now I'm wondering if I should just switch to a different brand. Anyone else had issues with Fiskars blades holding up?

Are you sure that blade just gave out for no reason? Sometimes people overlook stuff like hitting a nail or a knot in the wood and that can mess up a blade no matter the brand. Two seasons is a decent run for something you use hard enough to break. I've had cheap saws last years and expensive ones snap on the first branch, so it can just come down to luck sometimes.

Yeah, "luck sometimes" is the truth, but I always check my blade tension before blaming the wood.

Hey you said "two seasons is a decent run" but thats not really accurate for a pole saw. Two seasons of light trimming is nothing for a tool like that, especially from a brand like Fiskars. I know guys who run those things for years on heavy limbs without a blade giving out like that. Sounds like you got a bad blade or maybe hit something weird in the wood, but two seasons aint "decent" for that kinda saw.
