Rant: My climber gear from 15 years ago vs now
Tbh I dug out my old saddle from 2009 last weekend when I was cleaning the shed. That thing was beat up but still solid. 3 years ago I switched to a newer lightweight model and honestly I miss the old one. The new one is fine but the padding wore out in 2 seasons. What do you guys prefer for long days in the tree?

My old 2008 New Tribe still beats my newer one for comfort after 8 hours lol.

Seventy five bucks for a "comfort upgrade" on my 2019 model and it still digs into my hip after four hours. @brian_smith6 you got off easy with a 20 minute nap, I wake up with bruises that last a week. The older ones just had better leather and thicker padding, plain and simple. They used a different type of tree too, not this molded plastic stuff they push now. New Tribe changed their whole design around 2012 and it shows. Give me a worn in 2008 any day over something that's "technically improved" but hurts more.

That "8 hours lol" reminded me, I once fell asleep in my saddle for a solid 20 minutes on a long trail ride. Woke up when my horse decided to follow a deer trail.
