That one storm call in Portland made me rethink my notch cuts

Had a 60-foot fir come down sideways on a garage last Tuesday, and the homeowner's old chainsaw cut like butter with a skip chain, but my usual notch just felt wrong for the lean. Swapped to a Humboldt on the fly and it dropped exactly where I wanted, has anyone else switched styles depending on the tree's lean or do you stick with one?

Humboldt for the win. Once I switched for a heavy leaner, I never looked back. Straight notch barely gets touched now.
