Two years of babying a client's sick maple tree finally paid off with new leaves this spring. Felt like forever.

Tbh two whole years? I would have given up on that tree way sooner.

Oh wow, that's amazing. I get what @the_miles is saying about two years being a long time, but sometimes a plant just needs that extra patience to come back. Really glad you stuck with it.

Yeah, "would have given up" was my exact thinking too, until this one. Seeing that first tiny bit of green under the scratch on the bark last fall, after a whole year of nothing. It wasn't much, just a hint. But it proved the thing was still fighting. That's what made me stick with it. This spring feels like we both won.
