Wasted $150 on a cheap pruning pole that snapped mid-cut
Bought a telescoping pruning pole off Amazon for $150 last spring. First real job with it, trying to cut a 4 inch limb over a driveway in Austin, and the extension piece just buckled and snapped. The blade was dull out of the box and the locking collar stripped after three uses. Anyone else had luck with a budget pole saw or do I just need to bite the bullet on a Silky or something?

A hundred and fifty bucks for a pole that snapped on a 4 inch limb? That's brutal, almost sounds like a cheap aluminum ladder from the hardware store.

@roberts95 my buddy bought that same pole and it bent on a twig.

Heard someone online say those poles are basically just rebranded budget tent poles with a fancy paint job. @tara_patel your buddy got burned hard on that one, sounds like the company is cutting corners on the metal. Sucks paying good money for something that can't handle basic trail trash.
