Why I stopped using a climbing harness on removals under 30 feet
I switched to a pole strap and a lanyard for small dead oaks near powerlines in Portland last spring, felt sketchy at first but it cut my rigging time in half, anyone else ditch the full harness on short jobs?

One wrong bounce on a dead oak and you're eating the ground. Pole strap keeps you close but it doesn't catch a slip sideways. I keep the harness on under 30 if there's any rot or lean. Saved me once when a limb peeled off.
