A hawk at my feeder in Austin made me rethink the whole setup

I was watching some finches at my tube feeder last Tuesday morning. A sharp-shinned hawk swooped down from the oak tree and took one right off the perch. It happened so fast. Now I'm torn between keeping the feeder close to cover for the small birds' safety or moving it right out in the open so they can see danger coming. What's the better move here, closer to bushes or farther away?

Hawks gotta eat too, it's just nature doing its thing. Maybe don't overthink the feeder placement.

Just nature doing its thing" is a wild thing to say about a hawk at a bird feeder. That's like saying a bear at a picnic is just nature. Honestly, it's a predator at a dinner plate you set up.

Just nature doing its thing" reminds me of the time a Cooper's hawk took a dove in my yard and left feathers stuck to the window for a week...
