Appreciation post for the blue jay that showed up during a tough week
Last Tuesday I was sitting on my porch feeling pretty down about a work problem, and a blue jay landed right on the feeder about 3 feet away. It just sat there for a good 5 minutes, looking at me like it was checking in. Has anyone else had a bird show up at just the right moment like that?

A friend of mine had a cardinal land on her car mirror right after she got some bad news from the doctor, and she swears it turned her whole day around, @smith.anna. Birds are just weirdly good at showing up when you need a moment of peace lol.

I don't think a bird sitting on a feeder is some deep message, it just wanted a snack.

Oh wow, this is so sweet! I've noticed this happens way more often than we give it credit for. Like, animals have this weird sense for when we need a little sign to keep going. A random robin showed up on my windowsill the day I was stressing about a family issue, and it just sat there preening like everything was fine. It's like nature has this built-in way of reminding us to pause and breathe, even when we think everything's falling apart.
