Hot take: I was chasing the wrong birds for years.

Always wanted a perfect shot of a cardinal, so I'd sit for hours staring at my feeder. Then my neighbor in Akron pointed out a tiny wren nest tucked under my porch gutter, full of babies. Anyone else miss the small stuff right in front of them?

Try sitting still in your own yard for ten minutes, you'll see more.

My cat watched a squirrel for an hour yesterday.

Yeah, it's crazy how much we miss by just moving through our own space. My neighbor's bird feeder is like a whole drama if you actually stop and look. You start noticing which squirrels are bold, which birds wait their turn, the whole routine. Makes you realize your backyard is never really empty.
