I used to refill my feeder every Sunday, now it's a Tuesday and Thursday thing since the grackle gang moved in

The first time a flock of 30 grackles cleaned out my platform feeder in under 4 hours back in March, I knew my once-a-week routine was dead, so now I split the seed into smaller portions twice a week and even added a cage around it, but has anyone else had to change their whole feeding schedule just to keep up with these birds?
