Just hit 47 species in my yard and honestly I think the counting is ruining it

I started keeping a simple list back in February and the whole chase for number 47 made me spend more time staring at my phone checklist than actually watching the birds, has anyone else felt the milestone pressure take the fun out of it?

Started logging every bird that hit the feeder screen and now I just watch the cat watch them instead, much less stressful honestly. That number 47 thing sounds like a trap, my cousin hit 50 and now he argues with the neighbor about a woodpecker that maybe doesnt exist.
