Just read a report that window collisions kill nearly a billion birds here in the US every year...

I found this fact in a study from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and it made me look at my own big living room window differently. I put up some simple decals last month, and I've already seen fewer confused thumps against the glass. Has anyone else tried something like this and noticed a change?

Honestly, I used to think those decals were just for looks. Like, how much could a sticker really do? But seeing that number, a BILLION birds, it just hit me. I got some of those dotted ones for my patio door, and the difference is real. It's not perfect, but the quiet mornings without that awful sound are proof enough for me.

Oh, that's a great reminder. I use those removable window films, and they really cut down on the thuds.

My window decals are just a bunch of little hawks. Now the birds avoid my house, but I live in constant fear of attracting actual hawks. It's a real "out of the frying pan, into the fire" home decor choice. Guess I'm trading bird strikes for a possible bird of prey staring into my soul.
