My bird feeder pole snapped clean in half during that big windstorm Tuesday night
I woke up Wednesday morning and found the whole thing on the ground, seed everywhere. It was a cheap metal pole from a big box store, maybe lasted two years. I had to zip-tie it to the fence post just to get it standing again for the chickadees. Anyone have a recommendation for a really sturdy feeder pole that can handle Midwest gusts?

Oh man, I feel your pain! The same storm took out my shepherd's hook and bent it like a pretzel. I had a cheap one too, and it was a total loss. I ended up getting a really thick steel pole from a local garden center, the kind you pound deep into the ground. It was a bit more money but it hasn't budged an inch in crazy winds since.

Ugh, did the storm wreck your bird feeder too or just the hook? I had a cheap one snap right off at the base last year, it was so sad. That thick steel pole idea sounds SOLID, way smarter than just buying another flimsy hook.

Yeah, I went through that last spring... lost two hooks in one storm. I finally just got a heavy duty metal pole from the hardware store and sunk it almost two feet down with some concrete mix around the base. It was a weekend project but so worth it... hasn't even wobbled since.
