My mail carrier told me I was scaring the finches with my feeder placement
She mentioned she sees birds get spooked when feeders are too close to windows, so I moved mine 10 feet away from the back door. Now the goldfinches actually stick around instead of flying off every time I grab a coffee. Anybody else adjust feeder spots based on random neighbor advice?

Totally feel you on that, it takes a little trial and error to get it right.

Right? More like trial and a whole lot of error some days. You'd think by the third time you'd have it figured out but nope, back to square one again. Isn't that how it always goes though? Just when you think you're golden, you realize you missed a step.
