Yeah that's a Portland mood for sure. My neighbor says they're the first sign the rain's about to break. Kinda love that.

But what if the rain doesn't actually break? I've seen those slugs come out and then it just drizzles for another week straight. Feels more like a cruel joke than a sign.

I saw some nature blog say slugs sense humidity changes, not actual rain stopping. RyanTorres might be onto something with the cruel joke idea.
