My neighbor swears by a heated birdbath in January but my $6 terra cotta saucer wins
She told me over the fence in November that moving water is the only way to get birds in winter, so I set out a plain saucer of warm tap water instead and counted 9 species on it last Tuesday, juncos and a flicker included. Maybe the $70 heated model works too, but has anyone else noticed birds skipping the fancy stuff for a cheap dish?
