Put out a suet feeder 6 feet from my window and the woodpeckers quit coming. Any clue why?
I had a suet cake hanging about 20 feet from the house for a month and a downy pair hit it almost daily, so last weekend I moved it to 6 feet off the glass to get better photos. Now it's been 5 days and nothing, not even the chickadees, even though the cake is fresh. Did I get too close and spook them, or is this just a time thing where they need a week to trust a new spot?
