Question about the robin that's been digging in my flower bed for a week straight

Everyone keeps calling them 'worms' but I watched for an hour and that robin is pulling up and eating grubs, which is actually good for my lawn, so maybe we should stop trying to shoo them away.

Wait, you can actually see what they're eating? I always just assumed they were after worms and messing up the lawn. That's a really good point about the grubs. I used to get so annoyed at the holes, but if they're eating pests, I guess I should just let them do their thing. My yard could probably use the help anyway.

Totally agree, that robin is doing free pest control. I had the same thing happen in my yard last spring. The grass was way healthier after the birds cleared out the grubs.

My neighbor's cherry tree was full of aphids until a chickadee family moved in last month. They cleaned the whole thing up in like a week.
