Rant: The cardinal at my feeder in Boise made me stop cleaning my windows every weekend
I used to wash my kitchen window every Saturday morning like clockwork, mostly because I wanted clear photos of the birds at my feeder. Last month a male cardinal kept bonking into that same clean glass, over and over, for about four days straight. A wildlife rehabber in Boise told me the shine and the reflection of my tidy yard was making him fight his own image. Now I leave a dusty film on that one pane and smudge it with a sponge, and the knocking finally stopped. Anyone else had a bird attack a window they thought was just nicely cleaned?
