Saw a red tailed hawk on the fence post by the grain silo off Route 9

Took my dog out past the old Hargrove place near Route 9 on Tuesday morning and there it was, sitting on the same fence post like it owned the place. I parked the truck about 40 feet back and just watched it for maybe 10 minutes. It never moved except to turn its head, and I could see a mole or something hanging from one talon. I've driven that road for 6 years and never once saw a hawk there, so I'm wondering if it's nesting nearby or just passing through. Has anyone else seen one hanging around a spot like that more than once?
