That week the grackles treated my feeder like an all-you-can-eat buffet
Ngl, last Tuesday I counted 27 grackles on my little feeder in Austin and they emptied a full suet cake in 2 hours flat. They even chased off a blue jay that looked totally offended. Has anyone tried those weight-activated feeders, or do the grackles just learn to hover anyway?

Give up and buy a tray feeder instead.
