Tossed my feeder after a hawk hit my window on Sunday, now I'm second guessing everything
I was sitting in my kitchen in Boise last Sunday morning with coffee when a sharp shinned hawk chased a finch straight into my sliding glass door. The thud was so loud my neighbor came over, and the finch didn't make it. I always thought window strikes were a once in a while thing, but this was the third hit in two months at that one window. So I took the feeder down that same day and haven't put it back up since. Now I've got a bare hook on the porch and I'm wondering if I overreacted, or if anybody else has pulled feeders to protect the little guys?
