Tried that mealworm feeder for 3 weeks and nothing came near it

I put up one of those mesh tube feeders filled with dried mealworms right by my back fence in Portland, thinking the chickadees and nuthatches would go crazy for it. After 3 weeks not a single bird touched it, I even moved it closer to the bushes. Turns out birds around here are picky and they won't eat dried ones unless you soak them first, who knew. Has anyone else had a bird feeder totally flop like that?

Turns out birds around here are picky" - actually chickadees love dried mealworms, you just gotta crush them up a bit.

Three chickadees have been visiting my feeder every morning this week, it's awesome.
